With his B.S. and M.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Ed Zore joined Northwestern’s investment department and served as chief investment officer from 1990 to 1998. He was chief financial officer from 1995 to 1998, and became the 16th president in the history of Northwestern Mutual in 2000. Northwestern Mutual is the largest direct provider of individual life insurance, with assets of more than $100 billion. Named Chief Executive Officer in 2001, Mr. Zore is also a board member of seven Northwestern companies, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, and on the board of Manpower Inc.

 

In the insurance industry, he is a member of the American Council of Life Insurers, the Business Round Table, and the Conference Board. He is very active in the Milwaukee Community, serving on such local boards as the YMCA, the Medical College of Wisconsin, the United Performing Arts Fund, the Children’s Health System, and the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute.
